As part of an introduction to our World War 2 history topic this term, we (Oak class) visited the Blitz exhibition at Flambards Theme Park.

Among the recreations of domestic rooms and shops of the period, there were the sights and sounds of a bomb-blasted house, the claustrophobic interior of an Anderson shelter and a reminder of the roles played by the brave men and women on the home-front  in the fire service, the ARP units and the morale-boosting NAAFI.

Also, we had the opportunity to explore the Victorian village and study the history-of-aviation exhibits. A great start to the term!
