Curriculum Topic Homework:

Each term the children have a topic homework grid where they can choose to complete any of the tasks, it is recommended that the children try one activity from the grid each half term to extend their knowledge and understanding of the learning. 

We love seeing fantastic projects brought in by the children! The grid acts as a guide, independent led projects/tasks are also welcomed.

Spelling Homework:

Spelling and word knowledge are key components in the process of learning to read and write. The game aspect of Spelling Shed ensures children are engaged and eager to practice their spellings regularly. The low-stakes games, quizzes and reward systems ensure that children find spelling fun. 

Each child in Trailblazers class has been provided with their own spelling shed login for home so that they can access the games based on their spellings each week and the list that each group is working on can be found on the spelling section of our class information.

An assignment will be allocated to your child each week. Set on a Monday, your child has a week to access that particular spelling list. The expectation is that they practice their spellings a few times each week. It is incredibly beneficial for your child to access their assignments to scaffold their learning. On a Friday, we will review the spellings set in class. 

Each child has a yellow home spelling book which they can use, or they can access their practice solely online.
