Your child will be assessed and sorted into one of the three spelling groups outlined below. Their group may change throughout the year as we track your child's spelling progress. Each week, a list is assigned to them from Spelling Shed's scheme. This is stuck into their yellow home book and also assigned online. As a part of their weekly homework, your child can choose how to practice their spellings: online on the game platform or in their yellow book using their spelling menu. The lists are introduced to the children on a Monday with a practice activity. Below you can view the yearly overviews for the different groups. 

We reward spelling practice in three different ways. Each week, we award children for our 'Spelling Shed Superhero': a recognition of their practice online, our 'Homework Hero': for a child who has done some fantastic work in their yellow book and our 'Writing Wonder': for a child who has shown and proven great work using their spellings in class. They will receive their certificate in our weekly celebration assembly and their name will be placed into our termly 'honey pot prize draw'.
