On Tuesday our class paid a visit to the local artisan bakery where we were warmly greeted by Lee and master baker Dougie.
Dougie gave a fascinating talk about the history of bread and then showed us all the equipment needed to make all his wonderful creations.
We were shown the yeast and all the different flours that are used by artisan bakers.
The children all worked hard to make their individual pizzas.
Into the oven for 3 minutes and then the enjoyment of tasting their creations and “take away”!
Somebody looks very pleased ! Thank you Mrs Stanbury for your help today.
As we put our coats on to return to school we all gave a very big thank you to Dougie and Lee at Red Dog Bakery who freely gave their time and ingredients, Class 2&3/4 thoroughly enjoyed their time being bakers.
