God's Eye

During our recent sessions of wild tribe, we have been making God's eyes.

A God's eye is a spiritual and votive object made by weaving a design out of yarn upon a wooden cross, often using several colours. They are commonly found in Mexican communities.

Many ancient peoples decorated their bodies with natural pigments. With a paste made from ground charcoal, we face painted each other with designs that would have been familiar to the Mayans.
