Alighting from the coach, Trailblazers, following the zig-zag path, descended into the crater and to the education centre – The Core – for their workshop entitled Rainforest Ranger. The theme of the workshop was survival in the rainforest. After some preparatory work, Trailblazers blazed a trail to the rainforest biome to explore the tropical environment and identify plants that could be used for survival – completing their ranger’s notebook – and reflecting on how the indigenous people of the rainforests make everyday use of them for shelter, food and medicines.
