Autumn Term 2 - Frozen Kingdom Homework ideas

Please complete at least three from the list but we are happy for

you to do as many as you want over the half term.

You can bring them into school as you complete them.

Work can be emailed to school using this address:

Homework Letters:

Reading at home:

Each day we ask children to read for a sustained period of

15/20 minutes as part of their homework.

Please sign your son/daughters reading diary as only signed reads

will go towards our new reading at home rewards scheme for this

academic year.

It is still very important for your son/daughter to read a few times

a week to an adult.

Times tables - Around the World Times Table Challenge:

Once a week, a test will be taken in class (Friday morning) and each child will have three minutes to answer all the questions correctly in order to move on to the next country. Every child starts on United Kingdon. Below is a table of the countries, their order and the times tables that will be tested within that country. Each child has a passport and a stamp will be added to the passport upon successful completion of a country.

Once your child has completed the countries, they must visit Mr Carpenter/Mr Lawrence to take a verbal test. If successful, they return to the UK.

By supporting your child at home with recalling their times tables facts, you will be helping them fly around the times table world in supersonic timeframes.

Here are some links to help you learn them:

Timed multiplication challenge:

If you have a tablet you can also download the mathsrockx app (we have the full version in school, but the free version includes the games for each timestable):

Spelling Homework

Each Monday your son/daughter will be given a list of spellings. They will be given a test each Friday.

The class are split into two groups. One group works with Mr Lawrence and the other with Mrs Towe.

Please ask your child which group they are in.
