Welcome to the Governors' Page
School governors have three main roles:
Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
Holding the senior leader to account for the educational performance of the school, pupils and performance management of the staff.
Overseeing the financial performance of the school & making sure its money is well spent.
At Whitstone Community Primary School we work closely with the head teacher and staff to ensure that the school is the best that it can possibly be. We believe in the school's aim ‘to provide: a caring and supportive environment in which a child can succeed and develop his or her full potential’ and understand that governors play a valuable role in ensuring this aim is met.
Governors are volunteers who also work under the Nolan principles of public life. These are selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership. We endeavour to uphold all of these values in all that we do and have a code of conduct that we follow.
Governors can be contacted through the school office. The chair, Jackie Eason, can be contacted through her email address: email@example.com
It is sometimes a bit of mystery what governors actually do, so please read the following documents that show how governors at Whitstone work to challenge and support the school.
